Floodlights
The Floodlights of this Stadium are a bit unconventional when compared to the other Cricket Stadiums. The ground has very low-in-height light pillars, having a total of 16 floodlights. The reason behind this is to avoid the aircraft from the nearby Chandigarh Airport from Colliding with the light pillars.
Mohali Cricket Stadium Pitch Report
The Pitch of Cricket Stadium Mohali is one of the greenest pitches of India and is known to assist the fast bowler as it has both pace and bounce.
The Ball keeps its shine for a long time, the Batsman has to be more careful in the first innings as there is grass on the wicket.
It becomes easier to bat on the second and third day of a test match and on the fourth and fifth day due to the footmarks the Spinners may dominate the game.
India was bowled out for just 83 on the first morning of a Test against New Zealand in 1999.
However, over the years the pitch has flattened out and it’s becoming more of a batting paradise.
