The Dubai International Cricket Stadium / Dubai Cricket Stadium / Dubai International Stadium is a type of multi-purpose stadium located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. However, this stadium is mainly used for playing cricket. It is located in Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This stadium was formerly known as the Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium. Dubai Sports City (DSC) is a multi-venue sports complex facility that is built around five major sports venues.
The stadium was established in 2009. Awsam Matloob, a Canadian architect was the architect of this project.
This Stadium is one among the three stadiums in the United Arab Emirates, the other two stadiums are Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium located in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium located in Sharjah.
This Stadium along with Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium hosted the first phase of IPL 7 (2014 Season), full IPL 13 (2020 Season), and is set to host the second phase of IPL 14 (2021 Season).

The Dubai Cricket Stadium is one of the dedicated venues for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, It will be the host for some of the interesting matches including the Semi-Finals 2 and the Final of the tournament scheduled on November 11, 2021, and November 14, 2021, respectively.
Floodlights
The lighting system of the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a bit different and it is called as ‘Ring of Fire’. It has no light towers the 350 floodlights are fixed around the circumference of its round roof, thereby minimizing the shadow of objects in the ground.
It is the first Cricket Facility in the World to use the ‘Ring of Fire‘ system to acclaim from all the players, broadcasters, and officials.

The pitch in Dubai Cricket Stadium slows down in the evening as it progresses, Hence it favors the team batting second as the batsmen will have an added advantage of the slow pitch as well as the due factor which comes into play in the evening which poses a great challenge to the spinners as it will be difficult to grip the wet ball.
